My best friend just found out that she’s pregnant.
The first thing she did after crying on my shoulder, was worry about what happens if there is still a shortage on baby formula.
I had to laugh. I couldn’t believe that she had eight months to store some baby formula away. Whenever she found any, she could purchase it and put it in her pantry. I also reminded her that women are made so they didn’t need formula to feed their babies. Her response to that was, ‘EWWWW!’, and I laughed even harder. She said that would be odd since she worked in a law office. They would fire her if she fed the baby in work. I went back to the baby formula shortage and how easy it would be to buy it when she found it and put it in the pantry. I remembered the last time she was pregnant and her husband was trying to find the perfect wire for his projects. He was looking for black annealed rod wire. I got smart on her and asked why he needed to kneel on his rod and yell fire, but she didn’t find it funny. She got quite snippy and said he needed black annealed rod wire, and he couldn’t find it. By the time black annealed rod wire came into stock, it was gone before he got to the store. I told her we would both look for black annealed rod wire and baby formula every time we went to town. She rolled her eyes and told me I was a terrible friend, but she still loved me.
